Joshua Liam Henderson
Biography
Joshua Liam Henderson is a non-professional actor who made his screen debut in Óliver Laxe's critically acclaimed 2025 dystopian drama Sirāt. To achieve a sense of documentary realism for the film, which follows a desperate father searching for his missing daughter amidst a nomadic rave community in the Moroccan desert, Laxe and his casting team street-cast actual members of the rave and free party scene. In real life, Henderson is an active part of the rave community and works on post-festival cleanup crews, spending days restoring natural sites after the parties conclude. In Sirāt, he plays the supporting role of Josh, a raver who travels with his dog in a caravan alongside veteran actor Sergi López. Henderson is also featured in HU / هُوَ. Bailad como si nadie os viera (2025), an immersive 180-degree audiovisual installation directed by Laxe for the Museo Reina Sofía in Madrid, which expands upon the visual universe and character research of Sirāt.
